It has 33.9 million unique visitors across the globe. This site enables its registered users to have a contact list called connections. Any other person whether a LinkedIn user or not can be invited by LinkedIn user to become his connection. A network is built with the direct connection of users, second degree connections i.e. connections of connections and third degree connections i.e. connections of second degree connections. . One can easily generate business from this site.

To use LinkedIn one should create a profile. Voice should be added to your account to reflect your personal style. One should always give brief details about the previous job and education. Once you have created an account add the connections of those people you know. Always get recommendations and referrals from your connections that can help to increase your business.
Other than your personal profiles one can also create the profile in the name of his company. The connections of this profile would be the employees of the company. This profile would reflect the reputation management of the company. One can join groups here. Joining more groups makes one look more important but on the other hand it becomes unmanageable.
Always participate and get social with people in your contact list to take advantage of social media. There are some groups that conduct discussions. Try to be a part of it and answer those questions that relate to your profession. Getting involved has an advantage that whenever someone sees your name and activity it reminds them of what you are doing. The more people remember you, the more they refer business to you.

Well, to be honest I'm not too active on LinkedIn, but I just do share my every post there and still I'm getting 100 to 200 visits monthly from it. I think I should be active LinkedIn member.
