I don’t know if there exists a blogger who hasn’t heard about the two colours of SEO techniques – White Hat SEO techniques and Black Hat SEO techniques. These two may only sound as some colourful hats but in reality, they play a decisive role in the success of your blog or website.
As is clear from the name, these two forms of SEO – white hat and black hat are just opposite of each other in terms of practices and results as well. One can take your blog to new heights while the other can take it deep down from where it is almost impossible to revive your blog and bring it up again. So let’s begin and have a look at them one by one.
White Hat SEO Techniques
White Hat SEO techniques are the SEO techniques which are ethical and follow policies and guidelines prescribed by the search engines. But one important thing about white hat SEO which I would like to point out is that the content is written for the humans and not for any search engine bots or spiders. Though the content has to be optimized for the search engines, but it is highly dedicated to the human audience.
White Hat SEO may take some time to give you good rankings in the search engines. But I guarantee you that with white hat SEO practising, you are at minimum or negligible risk of being punished by search engines.
Black Hat SEO Techniques
As I said, black hat SEO is completely contrary of the above. Black SEO techniques involves everything which can be done to gain high rankings for keywords in the search engines unethically.
One matter of fact that I would like to mention here is that black hat SEO was used to ethical once upon a time, until it was started being used as a spam like keyword stuffing, false presentation of content and meta description etc. Black Hat SEO practices are now completely banned by the search engines. Though following such practices may get you on the top for some keywords but as search engines are now getting more and more intelligent, you will soon be punished and brought down.
Thus my take on this would be to play safe, work a little harder and always go for white hat since it will give you more reliable and longer rankings with the search engines.
